Shawnee, Okla. – The Mid-America Christian University Softball Evangels concluded the 2017 season on a high note with a 6-3 victory over the Bacone College Lady Warriors today (May 5) in the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament at the Ball Fields at Firelake in Shawnee, Okla.

After falling behind 1-0 on a home run by Hunter Colburn in the second, the Evangels came through with four runs in the third to take control.

Taryn Callender began the inning by reaching on a hit by pitch and scored the first run on a fielder's choice by Larissa Tate.

Tiphani Napier and Katie Gracey also had RBI singles in the inning and Megan Wilson drove in Napier with a sacrifice fly for the fourth run.

MACU added another run in the fourth and Callender singled home pinch-runner Mariah Treat in the fifth for the Evangels' sixth run of the game.

Napier went two-of-three to wind up her senior campaign with a school single-season record .413 batting average.

Gracey's RBI single gave her 82 career RBIs, just one shy of the school career mark. Callender also finished her career with six triples, tied for the all-time lead.

Tayla Topaha went three-for-four for the Lady Warriors.

Morgan Wardlow pitched for the final time in her career, holding the Lady Warriors to three runs and striking out four in her seven innings. Wardlow ends her career with six shutouts, the most in the program's history.
