OKLAHOMA CITY – The Mid-America Christian University Women's Basketball Evangels have signed freshman Ossyana Ozoani for the 2017-18 season.

Ozoani, a 5-10 forward, comes to MACU after playing at nearby Del City (Okla.) high school.

"Ossyanna checks so many of the boxes we look for in potential athletes," MACU WBB Head Coach Hannah Moeller said.

"She's a joy to be around, and an elite student that has the chance to be a great player.  What excites us most about her as a player is her versatility.  We see her as someone with a high ceiling who has only scratched the surface of just how good she can be!"

She was a Big 10 Conference first-team selection last season while earning a pair of all-conference second-team honors from 2014-16 and honorable-mention recognition for the 2013-14 season.

Ozoani was also a two-time Defensive Player of the Year recipient and named to the Carl Albert All-Tournament team.

A solid student-athlete, Ozoani was named the Valedictorian of her graduating class and also received the Academic letterman jacket.

Ozoani will be joining a program on the rise under Moeller.  The Evangels captured their first NCCAA Central Regional championship last season since 2010 and also won 23 games, their most as an NAIA institution.
