OKLAHOMA CITY – The Mid-America Christian University Women's Basketball team has added freshman Shelby Thrailkill to the program for the 2017-18 season.

A native of Norman, Okla., Thrailkill prepped at Community Christian School (CCS).

"I am so excited to add Shelby to this signing class!" MACU WBB Head Coach Hannah Moeller said.

"She is one of the most mature 18-year-olds I have ever met.  She is the type of young lady who will leave our university four years from now having made an immeasurable impact on the entire campus.  On the basketball floor, Shelby does all of the little things almost perfect!  She is a phenomenal communicator who can really shoot it from the perimeter.  She has a super high basketball IQ and plays extremely hard.  We look forward to her leadership in our program."

At CCS, Thrailkill averaged 12 points per game and was an all-conference honorable-mention pick in 2017.

A 5-5 guard, she was named to the All-Star team in 2016-17 after setting school records for field-goal percentage and free-throw percentage.

Thrailkill was a Little All-City honorable-mention performer for the 2015 campaign and was selected as the Best Offensive Player of the Year for Norman High School during the 2014-15 season.

She also earned a pair of Carl Albert All-Tournament team selections from 2014-16.

Thrailkill is set to join a program on the rise under Moeller.  The Evangels captured their first NCCAA Central Regional championship last season since 2010 and also won 23 games, their most as an NAIA institution.
