OKLAHOMA CITY – The Mid-America Christian University men's golf team entered the final round of the U.C. Ferguson Classic hosted by Oklahoma City University, and the Evangels posted another respectable round to cap off the Tournament.

MACU finished eighth at the event, with freshman Gage Gibson leading the way for the Evangels in the final round. Isaac Maston was the highest individual finisher for MACU in the event, which was won by Oklahoma City University at a team, and by OCU's Rupert Kaminski individually.

Gibson shot a 75 to lead the Evangels over the final 18, but it was fellow Freshman Isaac Maston who finished the tournament with the lowest score for the Evangels. Maston finished in a tie for 13th-place at 219 (70-72-77), missing out on a top-10 finish by just five strokes. Tyler Price shot a final round 78 to finish at 228 (36th), two shots better than his teammate Jesse Humphrey, whose final round 78 gave him a tournament total of 230 (39th). Austin Davis finished in 47th with a 240, and Gibson finished in 48th at 242.

The Evangels will continue their fall season with the NCCAA Central Regional Championship on September 18-19 hosted by Southwestern Christian University at Lake Hefner Golf Club in Oklahoma City. The Championship will be a 54-hole event, with 36 holes on the first day, and a final 18-hole round on day two.
