OKLAHOMA CITY – Mid-America Christian University's Dominik Tajak has certainly made a name for himself in the early portion of MACU's 2017 men's soccer season. The junior forward currently ranks second among all players in the Sooner Athletic Conference with 10 goals on the campaign, and he is the only player in the conference who has scored in all of his team's games. On Saturday, Tajak and the Evangels got back on track after a tough loss their last time out.

Tajak scored twice in the first half, and MACU (6-1) scored four times in the opening 15 minutes of the match, and they poured it on in the second half, routing the Sterling College Warriors (1-5-1) 7-0.

It took MACU only 90 seconds to get on the board. Giovanni Sosa gathered in a deflection of a pass from Oliver May and fired it in the bottom left corner of the goal for his second goal of the season to give the Evangels the 1-0 lead. In the fifth minute, Tajak scored his first of the game when he fired a shot into the right side netting off a pass from Andres Ochoa, and he scored again in the 12th minute with a left-footed volley off a service from Brad Bennions to put MACU up 3-0. In the 15th minute, Kacey Owensby served a corner kick into the box and defender Simon Wieschemann headed it home for the Evangels' fourth goal. MACU scored on four of their first six shots.

May rocketed a one-touch shot into the goal off the right post in the 51st minute off a pass from Ochoa. MACU tacked on two more late, with Mikey Ortega finished a pass from Martin Mata in the 84th minute, and in the 87th minute, Yannis Krouk added his first goal as an Evangel on the Penalty Kick to cap the scoring.

Jakob O'Meara-Gill (5-0) earned the win in goal, making seven saves, and he earned his third shutout of the season. Joel Chavez (1-5-1) made six saves in the loss.

MACU will face a tough test on Tuesday night in their SAC opener in Plainview Texas. The Evangels will take on the NAIA #21 Wayland Baptist University Pioneers (6-1) at 6 p.m.
