OKLAHOMA CITY – The Mid-America Christian University volleyball team headed into downtown Oklahoma City to take on the Stars of Oklahoma City University in SAC Volleyball action. MACU struggled to find their rhythm in the match, and as a result they dropped their third straight match.

OCU (8-5, 5-1 SAC) rode their home court advantage to a straight sets win 25-18, 25-16, 25-15 over MACU (2-10, 1-5 SAC).

MACU hit fairly well in the first set, racking up 11 kills and hitting .241 in the frame, but Oklahoma City bettered MACU in both categories and took the set 25-18. The final two sets went solidly to the Stars, as MACU struggled to keep the ball in play, and OCU completed the sweep with set wins of 25-16 and 25-15.

Da'Jah Thompson led the Evangels with nine kills in the match, and Melissa Hoppal dished out 19 assists. Gabrielle Poling (14) and Tarann Riley (11) each posted double figures in digs.

MACU will remain on the road on Thursday night when they head north to take on Central Christian College (3-9, 1-5 SAC) at 6 p.m.
