PLAINVIEW, Texas – The Mid-America Christian University men's soccer team faced their stiffest test of the season on Tuesday afternoon. The Evangels were in the match late, but a flurry from Wayland Baptist University in the last 20 minutes put the game out of reach.

WBU (7-1, 1-0 SAC) tallied three times in the final 19 minutes as MACU (6-2, 0-1 SAC) fell 4-0 to the Pioneers.

WBU opened the scoring in the 34th minute when Ricardo Ramos shot a deflection off MACU Goalkeeper Jakob O'Meara-Gill to put WBU up 1-0. That margin held up until the final 20 minutes of the match, when Wayland Baptist got two goals from James Westfield and one from James Quinn to push the final margin to 4-0.

O'Meara-Gill (5-1) made five saves in the match. Ziggy Camejo (4-0) made two saves in the win for Wayland Baptist.

MACU will return home to host the St. Gregory's University Cavaliers (2-3-2, 0-0 SAC) on October 3 at 4 p.m.
