DENTON, Texas – The Mid-America Christian University Lady Evangels stepped out of regulation play on Thursday to take advantage of a unique opportunity. The Lady Evangels had the chance to head south to take on the University of North Texas Mean Green – an NCAA Division I opponent – in an exhibition match.

The result was lopsided in favor of the Mean Green, but the experience was one that MACU will look to use to help strengthen a program that is already showing well in the early season.

MACU was unable to slow the North Texas (6-2-2) offense in the match, as the Mean Green cruised to the 8-0 win.

The Lady Evangels did get a 15-save performance from Freshman Jennifer Starwalt in goal, and since the game was an exhibition for the Lady Evangels, her shutout streak of more than 290 minutes remains intact.

MACU will return to regular season play on Tuesday afternoon when they welcome the St. Gregory's University Cavaliers (4-3, 0-0 SAC) to Evangel Field in Oklahoma City at 2 p.m.
