OKLAHOMA CITY – Mid-America Christian University's volleyball team was without the services of Breeana Fritschow for the first eight matches of the year. Since the Lady Evangels have gotten her back into the lineup, they have begun to find a rhythm, and on Tuesday night, they looked like a well-oiled machine.

MACU (5-11, 4-6 SAC) dominated the match from start to finish, and Fritschow had a double-double with a season-high 18 kills as the Lady Evangels swept away the Bacone College Warriors (7-13, 1-9 SAC) 25-17, 25-20, and 25-12.

Bacone held with MACU early in the first set, and the Warriors led 5-4 when MACU went on a 6-0 run to take a 10-5 lead. Later in the set, another 5-0 spurt increased MACU's edge to 19-8, and the Lady Evangels cruised to the set win 25-17.

The second set was a closely contested affair, but again MACU trailed only once, by one point early in the frame. A 4-0 spurt with the Lady Evangels trailing 3-2 game MACU the lead for good, though Bacone kept it close throughout the set, as MACU won 25-20 to take a 2-0 lead in the match headed into intermission. The set win shifted momentum and the intermission did little to curb that trend. MACU used a 16-2 run to put the match away early, cruising to the win in the set 25-12 to complete the sweep.

Fritschow had 18 kills and 11 digs in the match, and Laurel church added 10 kills as well. Melissa Hoppal dished out 22 helpers and Ryann Hale added 18 assists, and Tarann Riley (16) and Gabrielle Poling (15) each posted at least 10 digs as well.

MACU will be back in action on Thursday at 2 p.m., when they welcome the Central Baptist College Mustangs (8-11) to the Gaulke Activity Center at 2 p.m. as a part of a tri-match. CBC will take on Randall University (15-9) in the middle match, and MACU will take on the Saints in the nightcap at 6 p.m.
