Evangels add Brian Armstrong for 2011 season

Oklahoma City, Okla. -- Co-head coaches Zach Bice and Evan Dresel have announced that Brian Armstrong will be joining the Mid-American Christian Evangels men's soccer squad for the 2011 campaign.
Before arriving at MACU, Armstrong played for Rose State College and was selected as a team captain.

Armstrong, a 6-4, 210 forward, also competed for SV Viktoria Herxheim, a player development program in Germany.

In high school, Armstrong played for Tinker Air Force Base and helped the squad take home the 2008 COASL championship by scoring five goals in three playoff games.

Armstrong was selected as the Top Goal Scorer and also earned multiple All-District selections.

"We are very excited to have Brian on the team next season," Dresel said.

"He has great size and athleticism and is a great goal scorer. Brian also brings with him a wealth of playing experience. We look forward to him being a great contributor to our team next year."

The 2010 Evangels are 5-6-2 overall this season and are competing for a berth in the Sooner Athletic Conference tournament with a 2-4 conference record.
