SNU sneaks by Evangels, 1-0

Bethany, Okla. -- Despite combining for 42 shots, goals were hard to come by but Blake Rodgers managed to find the net to help the Southern Nazarene Crimson Storm slip by the Mid-America Christian Evangels 1-0 in a Sooner Athletic Conference matchup Tuesday night (Oct. 26) in Bethany, Okla.
Shots were aplenty, as the Crimson Storm out-shot the Evangels 22-20 overall.

But scoring opportunities were more limited for the Evangels, as SNU held a 10-2 edge on-goal.

Rodgers and Ryan Allen each had a match-high six shots to lead SNU, while Casey King had a team-best five shots for the Evangels (5-8-2, 2-6 SAC).

MACU's Austin Custar stopped nine shots, with Ricky Cabello recording a pair of saves for the Crimson Storm (5-8, 4-4 SAC).

The Evangels will next wrap up the road portion of their regular season conference schedule with a matchup at Oklahoma Baptist on Saturday afternoon (Oct. 30).

Kick-off is set for 2:30 p.m. in Shawnee, Okla.
