Lindsborg, Kan. -- Jeremiah Huff scored twice to propel the second-seeded Mid-America Christian Evangels to a 6-0 rout over the Southwestern Assemblies of God Lions in action at the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) quarterfinals Thursday (Nov. 18) on the campus of Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kan.
The victory for MACU avenges a 3-1 loss to the Lions in the season-opener earlier this season.

Huff got the Evangels going early with a goal just 3:37 into the match.

Daniel Gallegos and Benny Olvera added to the lead by scoring goals just 1:37 apart to suddenly put the Evangels up 3-0 at the 14:42 mark of the first half.

Casey King made it a four-goal lead in the 28th minute by scoring his team-leading seventh goal of the season.

Willy Deleon kept up the onslaught with a goal five minutes into the second half and then assisted on Huff's second goal just over three minutes later for the Evangels' sixth goal at the 53:59 mark.

Olvera tallied a match-high six shots and three shots-on-goal to lead the Evangels (7-9-2), who out-shot the Lions 18-12 overall and 10-3 on-goal.

Brian King and David A. Flores each had three shots to pace the Lions.

Austin King made three saves in the net for the Evangels, while James Swearingen and Cesar Galvan combined to stop four shots for the Lions (6-11).

MACU will now face Oklahoma Wesleyan in the regional semifinals tomorrow night (Nov. 19) at 7 p.m., once again at Bethany College in Linsborg, Kan.
