Evangels land three on NCCAA All-American team

Oklahoma City, Okla. - Andrew Webster has been selected to the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Men's Soccer All-American squad as a first-team pick, while Austin Custar and Kyle Pezant were honorable-mention honorees, the organization announced today.

Webster, a sophomore defender from Liverpool, England, was an important piece to the Evangels' defensive unit this past season. He was a starter in all 19 matches and contributed to six shutout victories, three more than last season. Webster also contributed offensively by dishing out one assist.

Pezant, a senior midfielder out of Moore, Okla., also started all 19 matches and scored four goals on the season. His four goal output was good for third on the team.

Custar, a senior goalkeeper from Norman, Okla., recorded six shutouts in the net on the season. He also made 80 saves, which ranked second in the Sooner Athletic Conference.

The trio helped the Evangels advance to the NCCAA Central Regional semifinals with a 6-0 victory over Southwestern Assemblies of God in the regional quarterfinals.

MACU finished the 2010 season with a 7-10-2 overall record and a 3-7 mark in conference.
