Dresel Elevated to Co-Head Coach

Oklahoma City, Okla. - Mid-America Christian University has promoted assistant men's soccer coach Evan Dresel to co-head men's and women's soccer coach. He joins current head soccer coach Zach Bice after three seasons as assistant coach.

"I am excited to announce that Evan Dresel has been moved from assistant soccer coach to co-head coach of the men and women soccer programs at MACU," Athletic Director Willie Holley said. "Evan has worked hard and proven himself as a college coach. He has been a vital part of the development of our soccer programs and we look forward to his continued leadership."

During his time as assistant coach, Dresel has seen much success with the MACU soccer program. The men's soccer team won back to back National Christian College Athletic Association Central Region championships in 2008 and 2009. Last season the men's team produced their first NCCAA First-Team All American and the two programs combined produced four All-Sooner Athletic Conference selections.

"I'm excited about being elevated to co-head coach," Dresel said. "Coach Bice and I have been coaching together here for the past three seasons so nothing much is changing except for my title. We will both continue to work hard to ensure the continued growth of our programs."

Dresel holds his National C Coaching License and has been the competitive coach for Southlakes Cosmos '94 girls' team over the last five years. He was the assistant soccer coach at his alma mater, Mustang High School from 2002 to 2005. He went on to coach the Mount Saint Mary's High School men's team in 2007 and in 2008 he coached both the men's and women's program. Also in 2008, Dresel was an Olympic Development Program Assistant Coach.

Dresel completed his playing career at Southern Nazarene University in 2006. While at SNU he was a 2006 first team All-Conference selection and part of the 2005 Final Four team at the NAIA National Tournament.

Dresel and his wife, Jen, reside in Oklahoma City.
