The Mid-America Christian men's soccer squad has been selected to finish eighth in Sooner Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches Poll, with the University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma Drovers being tabbed as the preseason favorite.
The Drovers received eight of a possible 11 first-place votes. Oklahoma City came in second and collected the other three first-place tallies.
The Drovers are the defending SAC champs after going undefeated in conference play at 8-0-1 last year and 17-2-1 overall. OCU was 15-4-2 overall last season.
Southern Nazarene finished third and Rogers State and John Brown rounded out the top five.
Oklahoma Christian was sixth, followed by Oklahoma Baptist at seventh.
After the Evangels at eighth, it was St. Gregory's, Lubbock Christian and Wayland Baptist wrapping up the 11-team poll.
The Evangels are set to open the 2010 campaign by hosting Southwestern Assemblies of God on Wednesday afternoon (Aug. 25) at 4 p.m.
