Shawnee, Okla. -- Willy Deleon scored the only goal of the match late in the first half and that proved to be enough for the Mid-America Christian University Evangels to win 1-0 at the St. Gregory's University Cavaliers in Sooner Athletic Conference action Friday afternoon (Oct. 12) in Shawnee, Okla.

Deleon's goal came at the 41:36 mark of the first half off an assist from Andy Mendoza.

The Evangels (7-4-1, 1-2-1 SAC) were out-shot 11-7 overall but held a 4-3 edge in shots-on-goal.

Tyler McIntosh and SGU's Brock Vorwald each made three saves in the match.  The shutout is McIntosh's fourth of the season.

The Evangels will next host Wayland Baptist University next Thursday afternoon (Oct. 18) at 4 p.m. at MACU Soccer Field.
