Bonelle, Cabello Merit All-SAC Men's Soccer Honor

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Mid-America Christian University junior midfielder Raphael Bonelle and sophomore defender Kevin Cabello have each been selected to the All-Sooner Athletic Conference squad, the league released last night (Nov. 7).  Bonelle earned first-team honors, while Cabello was a second-team performer.

Bonelle provided an even better encore to what was an oustanding initial season to the program last year.  He scored a school single-season record 13 goals this season, snapping his own mark of 10 last year.

The Sao Paulo, Brazil native also dished out a team-high seven assists this season and received a pair of SAC Offensive Player of the week honors and one National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Player of the Week nod.

Cabello, a sophomore from Oklahoma City, played a key role for a defensive unit that posted four straight shutouts earlier this season, including a scoreless draw at NCAA D-I Oral Roberts University.  He also found a way to contribute offensively with three goals and two assists.

The duo will next be in action when the Evangels host the NCCAA Central Regional Tournament that is tentatively scheduled to begin on Nov. 23 at MACU Soccer Field.
