OKLAHOMA CITY -- Robert Ambrosie recorded a hat trick to lead the Southwestern Assemblies of God University Lions to a 3-2 win over the Mid-America Christian University Evangels in Sooner Athletic Conference action today (Oct. 20) at MACU Soccer Field.

Ambrosies's three goals were enough to overcome Gleydson Neri's two goals for the Evangels.

Neri got the scoring started for the Evangels with a successful penalty kick at the 11:30 mark, only to have Ambrosie answer just 1:30 later to tie the score.

Neri then struck again for his second score in the 34th minute to give the Evangels a 2-1 lead at the half.

But Ambrosie had the final say, tying the score at the 65:08 mark and then heading in a shot from the middle of the box with just 5:22 remaining that snapped the 2-2 gridlock and proved to be the game-winner for the Lions.

The Evangels (5-7-1, 1-4-1 SAC) out-shot the Lions 17-15 overall, but SAGU held a 10-8 edge in shots-on-goal.

Tyler McIntosh made seven saves in the net for the Evangels, while Cesar Espana tallied five saves for SAGU (6-7-1, 3-3 SAC).

The Evangels will next host No. 14-ranked USAO Friday afternoon (Oct. 23) at 3 p.m.
