Southwestern Christian Holds Off Men's Soccer Evangels, 1-0

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Igor Stojanovic scored for the Southwestern Christian University Eagles in the first half and that's all they would need to hold off the Mid-America Christian University Evangels 1-0 on Senior Day (Oct. 29) at Evangel Field.

The Eagles staved off the Evangels despite MACU holding an 11-10 edge in shot attempts.

But the Eagles outshot the Evangels 6-5 on-goal.

Vinny Vilela and Tej Trivedi each led the Evangels (3-13, 1-8 SAC) with three shots and Jakob O'Meara-Gill made five saves in the net.

Caleb Swanepoel started at goalkeeper for the Eagles and made one save before being issued a red card in the 28th minute of the opening half. Milos Milovic then came in and recorded four saves for SCU (12-3-2, 6-1-2 SAC).

The Evangels will now wrap up the season at home Tuesday afternoon (Nov. 1) against Ecclesia College at 2 p.m.
