OKLAHOMA CITY – The No. 16-ranked John Brown University Golden Eagles scored early and often in a 4-0 win over the Mid-America Christian University Evangels in Sooner Athletic Conference action today (Sept. 28) at Evangel Field.
Ryan Williams quickly put the Golden Eagles on top three minutes into the contest before Kelvin Omondi scored the first of his two goals just one minute later.
Omondi then assisted on a goal by Conner Haney in the ninth minute and then put in his second score at the 19:37 mark.
That's all the scoring the Golden Eagles (6-1-1, 1-0 SAC) would need as goalkeeper Adam Holt made seven saves to keep the Evangels off the board.
Jakob O'Meara Gill made five saves in the net for the Evangels.
MACU out-shot the Golden Eagles 14-12 overall, but JBU held a 9-7 edge in shots-on-goal.
Gleydson Neri led the Evangels (2-6, 0-1 SAC) with four shots, all on-goal.
The Evangels will next host Oklahoma City University on Saturday (Oct. 1) at 4 p.m.
