Tajak's Record Setting Week Leads to Third SAC Player of the Week Honor

OKLAHOMA CITY – Dominik Tajak has taken both Mid-America Christian University and Sooner Athletic Conference men's soccer by storm this season. On Monday, for the second week in a row and for the third time this season, Tajak was named the SAC's men's soccer Offensive Player of the Week after a week that saw him set a new single season MACU scoring mark.

Tajak netted a pair of game-winning goals as he surpassed the previous single season MACU record for goals which was set by Raphael Bonnelle in 2013.

He scored the game winning goal for MACU on Tuesday afternoon against Bacone College – his 15th of the season which tied Bonnelle's record, but his week was just beginning. He opened the scoring for the Evangels on Saturday after a lengthy delay to the start of their match at Central Christian College (Kan.), scoring the record-breaking goal just 1:27 into play and he added a second tally with 26 seconds to play in the first half – marking the second time this season Tajak has scored a goal in the dying seconds of a half. He now has 17 goals and he is just two points short of tying Bonnelle's single season points record (38), which was also set in 2013.

MACU will take to the field on Tuesday night at Oklahoma City University (10-3, 3-2 SAC) at 7 p.m. in a crucial match as the conference season heads toward the finish line.
