OKLAHOMA CITY – The National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Men's and Women's Soccer Central Regional Championships will be hosted in Oklahoma City this week, with Mid-America Christian University serving as one of the host sites for the Championships.
MACU and Southwestern Christian University will combine to host five matches in the two championships, which will begin on Wednesday afternoon with the Men's Semifinals. The Men's Championship final will be on Friday, with the women's semifinal and final taking place on Thursday and Saturday, respectively.
The men's semifinals will run concurrently on Wednesday afternoon. The top-seeded Southwestern Christian University Eagles will host Sooner Athletic Conference rival Central Christian College (Kan.), the fourth seed in the bracket, while the second and third seeds, the MACU Evangels and the McMurry University Warhawks respectively, will battle at Evangel Field in Oklahoma City. The winners will advance to the Championship final on Friday, which will be at SCU if the Eagles advance, but at MACU if the Eagles do not and the Evangels do.
Meanwhile on the women's side, only three teams will be participating, and all both matches will take place at MACU. The Lady Evangels will host the Colorado Christian University Cougars on Thursday at 2 p.m. in the semifinal. The winner will advance to face the Southwestern Assemblies of God University Lions, who earned a bye to the Championship match. The final will kick-off at 2 p.m. on Saturday afternoon at Evangel Field.
Live Video of all matches will be available through Stretch Internet from both fields. Championship Central Pages are located under the sport menus at the Official Home of MACU Athletics, www.macuathletics.com. On these pages, information is available for all seven participating teams, including links to their team home page, schedule, stats, and roster; as well as to the MACU visitor's guide. Links to Live Stats and Live Video are also listed, and upon the conclusion of each match, the box score, play-by-play, and game recap links will be listed.
