Tajak Named SAC Offensive Player, Newcomer of the Year; O'Meara-Gill All-SAC Second Team

OKLAHOMA CITY – The outstanding sophomore campaign of Mid-America Christian University's Dominik Tajak was again recognized by the Sooner Athletic Conference on Tuesday afternoon.

Tajak was named the SAC's Offensive Player of the Year, and he also claimed SAC Newcomer of the Year honors. Tajak was MACU's lone representative on the All-SAC First team as well, with teammate Jakob O'Meara-Gill earning a place on the Second Team All-SAC.

Tajak, a 6-6 forward from Erlangen, Germany, was named the SAC's Offensive Player of the Week four times in 2017. He scored a conference-best 22 goals – becoming the first SAC player to reach the 20 goal plateau in six years – and he scored 12 of those goals in Conference play, another SAC leading number. The 22 goals is a MACU single-season record, as is his total of 46 points.

O'Meara-Gill, a 5-11 senior goalkeeper from Balnarring, Australia, posted an 11-3-2 record in goal for the Evangels, backstopping MACU to their most wins in a single season in program history. He also posted a team record seven shutouts, while maintaining a Goals Against Average (GAA) of 0.87 and a Save Percentage of .795.

The Evangels will be back in action in the NCCAA Central Regional Championship on Wednesday afternoon at Evangel Field in Oklahoma City, when they host the McMurry University Warhawks (8-5-3) at 2 p.m.
