Men's Soccer Secures At-Large Bid to NCCAA National Championship

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The National Christian College Athletic Association announced its 2017 Division I Men's Soccer National Championship field on Saturday night, and the Mid-America Christian University Men's Soccer team will continue their 2017 season.

MACU (13-5-3) was one of three at-large selections to the field, which is split into three pods for pool play over the first three days of the Championship, with the top-four teams from pool play advancing to the Semifinals. The Championship will be held from November 27 through December 2.

MACU is the No. 7 Seed in the field, placing them in Pool C with the No. 3 Seed Indiana Wesleyan University Wildcats (10-7-2) and the No. 4 Seed Bethesda University (Calif.) Flames (15-2-1).

The festivities will begin on Sunday, November 26, with a Christian Service Project as is customary at all NCCAA National Championships. As a part of the project, student-athletes will be caring for at-risk kids, prison inmates, and the homeless in the local community. Student-athletes are also asked to bring a toy, and each team is asked to donate 20 pairs of socks for kids and 10 pairs for adults.

Pool play for MACU will begin at 6 p.m. eastern time on Monday, November 27. The Evangels will take on Indiana Wesleyan that evening in the third of three matches in the men's championship on the tournament's opening day. MACU will also have the night game on Tuesday, playing in the 6 p.m. time slot again when they battle Bethesda.

All games will be streamed live by the Tourbeau Sports Group on a pay-per-view basis. The tournament page can be found on the NCCAA's website at www.thenccaa.org under the Championships Menu and Division I Men's Soccer.
