OKLAHOMA CITY – The Sooner Athletic Conference announced its second men's soccer player of the week honors on Monday afternoon, and for the first time in 2018, the Mid-America Christian University Evangels had one of the honorees.

MACU's Djbril Fofana was named the SAC Defensive Player of the Week after he helped lead MACU to a neutral site victory over the University of Providence (Mont.).

Fofana, a 6-2 junior defender from Paris, France, helped anchor an Evangels' that held the Argoes to just three shots in MACU's 2-1 win on Saturday. Fofana also broke the ice in the game, scoring the match's first goal in the seventh minute.
