OKLAHOMA CITY – The No. 2 Mid-America Christian men's soccer team will be looking to keep the ball rolling in its first Sooner Athletic Conference road matchup of the season as the Evangels will face off against Southwestern Assemblies of God for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff at Waxahachie High School.

  • Mid-America Christian is coming off a dominating performance over Central Christian at home on Saturday as the Evangels held the Tigers to only three shots the entire match while cruising to a 3-0 victory.
  • Sophomore forward Ricardo Ferreira netted his fifth goal of the season and his second game-winning goal while his brother Rodrigo Ferreira hooked in his first career goal with the Evangels.
  • Rodrigo Albuquerque reclaimed the team-lead in goal-scoring in the 76^th minute with his sixth goal of the campaign.
  • With a 0.10 goals allowed average, Jeremi Abonnel has climbed up to fourth in the NAIA for the fewest goals conceded per game and is one of six keepers to only give up one goal or fewer on the season. Abonnel has also pitched the second-most shutouts with nine and as well as boasts the nation's fourth-best save percentage (.958).

  • Southwestern Assemblies of God enters Tuesday night's contest on a two-game losing streak to enter Sooner Athletic Conference play, dropping a 3-0 decision to Oklahoma City at Life High School in Waxahachie on Saturday.
  • The Lions have struggled in the attack as SAGU is currently the only team in the SAC that is scoring less than a goal per game with five scores at a 0.56 goals per game average. The Lions are also only taking 8.9 shots per game, ranking 177^th in the NAIA.
  • Ethan Steward and Ted Okoroh have been the two bright spots offensively for the Lions, combining to score all five of SAGU's goals this season.
  • While MACU leads the all-time series by a 12-5 mark, the Evangels have taken the last four matchups while pitching shutouts in each match. In last season's meeting, the Evangels came away with a 4-0 victory at the Dill Soccer Field on Oct. 30, 2021.
