OKLAHOMA CITY – Coming off one of its most important wins of the season, the No. 1 MACU men's soccer team will host Oklahoma Panhandle State for its Senior Night match at the Dill Soccer Field on Monday night. The Evangels will honor their three graduating seniors at the conclusion of the women's soccer match before the men's contest kicks off at 7:30 p.m.

  • Mid-America Christian's win at John Brown proved to be a massive one for the Evangels as MACU overtook the Golden Eagles for the Sooner Athletic Conference lead with 19 conference points (6-0-1), moving a point ahead of the Golden Eagles (6-1) with just two matches left in the regular season.
  • The winning goal of the match was netted on an incredible floating strike by Pietro Musso, who netted just his second career goal with the Evangels and the first game-winner of his MACU career.
  • By getting the win in-goal, MACU goalkeeper Claudio Fuentealba established himself in MACU's NAIA Era season record book as his 11^th win and fifth shutout moved him into a tie for fifth in each category. Fuentealba enters the week as the SAC leader in both goals allowed average (0.77) and save percentage (.783).
  • At the conclusion of the women's match, MACU will honor its three graduating seniors, Kareem Williams, Cedric Sampson and Jack Price.

  • Oklahoma Panhandle State enters the week as the last place team in the Sooner Athletic Conference standings, falling 2-1 at Southwestern Christian on Saturday.
  • The Aggies come into the game as the worst scoring team in the SAC, netting just 14 goals, averaging just 1.08 goals per game, but have been relatively strong on the defensive end, ranking fifth in the conference in goals allowed average at 1.38.
  • Mauricio De Santiago and Juan Balbin have combined to score six of OPSU's 14 goals with De Santiago leading the team in scoring with eight points on three goals and two assists, netting three of OPSU's five game-winners. Defensively, the Aggies have split time in-goal between Aaron Smith and Olai Caicoya with Smith being the most effective of the two keepers with a 1.18 goals allowed average and a .750 save percentage.
  • Since the Aggies established their soccer programs in 2019, the Evangels own a commanding 4-0-1 record in the all-time series. In their last meeting in Goodwell on Oct. 28, 2022, the Evangels came away with a 2-0 victory after Mason Gonzalez netted the game-winner just 28 seconds into the match before Dante Luz added some insurance for MACU in the 70^th minute.
