OKLAHOMA CITY – The No. 1 MACU men's soccer team returns to the Dill Soccer Field pitch for a Sooner Athletic Conference tussle with Texas Wesleyan for a 4 p.m. kickoff.
The match will feature a special occasion during halftime as the MACU baseball team will receive its 2023 NCCAA World Series Championship rings as well as a special recognition of the 1998 and 2004 NCCAA Division II National Invitational Championship teams.

  • Mid-America Christian had its best offensive outing of the season at rival Southwestern Christian on Tuesday as the Evangels scored a season-high four goals in a 4-1 victory at Cagle Family Field.
  • In the victory, senior defender Kareem Williams notched his first career five-point game, getting on the brace with a pair of goals as well as dished out an assist on Jack Price's first goal of the match.
  • Jack Price also got on the brace for the match, recording his third two-goal match in his three-year MACU career. The last time he netted a pair in the match, the Evangels came away with a 3-0 victory over Science & Arts in the SAC Championship at the Dill Soccer Field on Nov. 11, 2022.
  • The big result stems from one of its most efficient offensive attacks of the season, shooting the second-most shots (27) and the second-most shots on-goal (11) in a match this year, only getting more of each in the 2-1 win against Arizona Christian on Sept. 14.

  • Texas Wesleyan is off to a tough start to Sooner Athletic Conference play as the Rams have dropped their first two league matches, the last coming on Tuesday in a 3-1 loss at Central Christian.
  • TWU comes into the match as the second-best scoring offense in the SAC, as the Rams have netted 28 goals (2.80 gpg) on 16.3 shot attempts per contest. However, on the flip side, Texas Wesleyan has struggled on the defensive end, conceding the second-most goals per game (2.42).
  • The Rams offensive attack features one of the best strikers in the SAC in junior midfielder Mathis Guffroy. So far this season, Guffroy leads the league in goals (10) and points (23), but he has been so far kept in-check during league play, netting just one goal against SAC competition through the first two games.
  • Defensively, the Rams have been relying primarily on junior goalkeeper Alex Heinle in-goal, but the stopper has had a bit of a rough stretch, going 2-4-2 and conceding 3.08 goals per game. In limited action, sophomore goalkeeper Jim Van Dijk has been more efficiently allowing just 1.00 goals per game and has made 14 saves for an .800 save percentage in three matches.
  • Mid-America Christian has held firm control of the recent series as the Evangels have won seven-straight against the Rams dating back to Oct. 31, 2017. In those matches combined, MACU has outscored TWU 24-5, which included the program's most lopsided win ever against the Rams last season on Oct. 8. In that match, Mid-America ran away with a 6-0 victory as Ricardo Ferreira recorded a brace in the win.
