OKLAHOMA CITY – The MACU men's soccer program will be adding some experienced coaching depth to lead its varsity reserve program in 2023 as the Evangels welcome Ike Emegano as the program's new Head Varsity Reserve Coach.
"I am excited for the opportunity to coach student-athletes at the collegiate level," said Emegano. "I feel blessed for this opportunity to coach at MACU and I cannot wait to learn from Head Coach Neil Hilton and his staff."
Emegano brings 12-years of soccer coaching experience to the MACU men's soccer program while also providing strong insight as a former NAIA soccer student-athlete.
"We are blessed to have Ike join the group as our Reserve Team Head Coach," remarked Hilton. "Ike is highly respected and has a wellspring of experience in the soccer community. I firmly believe that the Reserve Team is in very good hands moving forward."
Currently, Emegano serves as the Head Girls' Soccer Coach Edmond North High School, heading the program since June 2020. In the last two seasons, Emegano has guided the Huskies to an 11-2 finish in 2022 followed by a 15-3 campaign in 2023.
Emegano also serves as a coach for the North Oklahoma City Academy U10 & younger program and the Energy FC central competitive coach, holding both positions since 2011.
A highly experienced youth and semi-pro coach, Emegano served as the Girls' Soccer Head Coach at the Casady School in Oklahoma City from 2013-19 while also serving as the Boys' Assistant Coach from 2013-16.
Emegano was also the Crossings Christian Girls' Middle School Head Coach from 2013-16 before spending five seasons as the Assistant Coach for the Oklahoma City FC from the Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL) from 2015-20.
On top of his coaching experience, Emegano brings a ton of experience as a former soccer player competing at the NAIA level, as he played for Oklahoma Christian from 2003-05 before transferring to play his final two seasons at Missouri Baptist from 2006-07.
Emegano earned his Bachelor's of Science degree in Business Administration from Missouri Baptist in 2008 and possesses a Class E, D and C Coaching License.
