OKLAHOMA CITY – The No. 1 MACU men's soccer team will be hosting one of its biggest rivals in Science & Arts (Okla.) for Alumni Night at the Dill Soccer Field on Saturday with kickoff between two of the highest profile teams in the Sooner Athletic Conference is slated for 7:30 p.m.

At halftime of the match, Mid-America Christian will be holding a recognition ceremony for the alumni in attendance.

  • Team Notes:
    • Mid-America Christian opened Sooner Athletic Conference play with a grueling match against another unbeaten squad in Central Christian, who entered with a 5-0-2 overall record.
    • The Evangels found themselves trailing at the half against the Tigers when CCCK scored on a second attempt penalty kick in the 12th minute. It appeared Javier Ceballos made the save on the initial PK, but an Evangels player was whistled for entering the penalty box before the shot was taken, allowing Central to score on a second try.
    • MACU battled back in the second half, tying the match up at 1-1 when Charlie Betts put in a penalty kick of its own before a sensational move in the midfield and a deep outlet pass by Diego Real setup Jack Price for his third game-winner of the season in the 70th minute.
    • After getting out-shot 7-5 in the first half, Mid-America Christian made some stellar halftime adjustments before dominating CCCK to the tune of 14-2 in shot attempts over the final 45 minutes.

    • Angel Diaz – FR – GK
      • 4-3-2 W-L, 1.68 GAA, 33 Saves, .688 SV%, 1 SHO
  • Team Notes:
    • Science & Arts had a tough opening to SAC play on its home pitch on Tuesday night as Drovers conceded the game-winning penalty kick goal in the 63rd minute before JBU star striker Oscar Carballo all but put the game away with an 86th minute score to hand the Drovers the 3-1 defeat.
    • Offensively, the Drovers rank in the middle of the pack when it comes to scoring offense, netting the sixth-best goals per game average at 2.40, but have faced some defensive challenges as USAO is allowing the seventh-most goals in the SAC at 2.00.
    • Despite the offensive struggles, the Evangels will need to focus on the two-player tandem that is senior forward Justin Croke and junior midfielder Matija Malenovic. Croke comes into Saturday's match ranking second in the league in assists (7) and points (17) as well as fifth in goals (5) while Malenovic is also ranking in the top five in each category, notching the third-most assists (6), points (16) and fifth-most goals (5).
    • Even though Science & Arts leads the all-time series, Mid-America Christian has fared well against USAO in their last five meetings, holding a 4-0-1 mark since 2021. Their last meeting came in the SAC Tournament's championship match at the Dill Soccer Field on Nov. 11, 2022 as Jack Price earned himself a brace with his two-goal effort, including netting the winning goal in the 48th minute as the Evangels cruised to a 3-0 victory.
