    • Facing off against two of the top offensive teams in the Sooner Athletic Conference last week, Mid-America Christian put together a pair of dominant defensive performances as the Evangels wrapped up their week with a big 3-1 road win at Texas Wesleyan no their Senior Day Saturday.
    • As a result of MACU's sensational defensive efforts last week, senior defender Oscar Gallardo was named the SAC Defensive Player of the Week after logging 134 minutes combined between Oklahoma City and TXWES as the defense allowed just one goal against the two potent scoring teams. He also netted his first career goal in the win over the Rams.
    • Tony Ngombi was also selected as the NCCAA Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week after he finished with a goal and two assists in the wins, including scoring his first career Evangels goal in the first half against TXWES.
    • Even though MACU got the win last weekend, the Rams did spoil the Evangels incredible defensive streak as the goal allowed in the 54th minute was the first goal that the MACU defense had given up in 373 consecutive minutes.

      • 5-4-3 W-L, 1.21 GAA, 27 Saves, .675 SV%, 2 SHO
  • Team Notes:
    • After going 4-2 in non-conference play, Southwestern Christian has struggled to find wins against SAC competition as the Eagles enter Tuesday night's match with a 1-2-3 record in league play. However, SCU has been posting some better results as of late after dropping its first two conference games, going 1-0-3 in the last four and are most recently coming off a 0-0 home draw to Science & Arts on Saturday.
    • During SAC competition, the Eagles have been dead even when it comes to offense and defense as the eight goals scored in conference play ranks seventh in the league while the defense has allowed only eight goals, which its as the fourth-best clip in the conference.
    • In the attack, SCU's most dangerous threat is experienced graduate student forward Teejay Chiororo, who has made up more than a third of the Eagles' offense by netting eight goals to go with three assists for 19 points. On the defensive side, junior goalkeeper Enzo Camp has logged all but 20 minutes in-goal for SCU this season, allowing only a 1.21 goals allowed average while needing to only make 27 saves.
    • Mid-America Christian has seen some success against Southwestern Christian in recent years as MACU has won five straight against the Eagles since the 2021 season. In last season's meetings, MACU came away with a dominant 4-1 win at Cagle Field on Oct. 3 before seeing a much more primed Eagles team at the Dill Soccer Field in the SAC Semifinal on Nov. 6. In that 1-0 win, Sebastian Rebolledo headed in the game-winning score in the 28th minute while the MACU defense held the Eagles to only eight shots, four of which were on-goal to advance to the title tilt.
