Men’s Soccer Welcomes William Woods in Final Non-Conference Match

OKLAHOMA CITY – No. 14 MACU Men's Soccer will be welcoming William Woods to the Dill Soccer Field on Saturday for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff in its final non-conference match before the start of Sooner Athletic Conference play.

SEASON REPORT
  • Record: 4-1-2
  • Last Match: Won vs. Friends (Kan.) – 2-1 – Sept. 17, 2024 – Dill Soccer Field
  • Top Performers:
  • Team Notes:
    • Mid-America Christian is coming off another strong challenge from a red-hot Friends team on Tuesday as the Evangels eventually came away with a 2-1 victory over the Falcons.
    • After conceding the go-ahead goal in the 14th minute on Friends' second shot, the Evangels quickly bounced back when Enzo Nogue fired in the equalizer on a penalty kick in the 19th minute before Federico Palacios netted the game-winner off a free kick in the 29th minute.
    • The Falcons put up a stronger fight in the second half, but the Evangels were able to grind out a stiff defensive battle as MACU held on for the 2-1 win.
    • Impressively, the penalty kick goal for Nogue marked his third PK goal of the season and extended his team-lead to five while the game-winner for Palacios was the first winning goal of his MACU career.
    • In an unorthodox fashion, all seven of Mid-America Christian's matches this season have been decided by a single goal or less and even though MACU has only outscored its opposition by an 11-8 margin, the Evangels have been producing strong results with their 4-1-2 overall record for the year with the lone loss coming at No. 6 Oklahoma Wesleyan.
