MATCH SUMMARY
  • First Half
    • The Evangels started on the front foot from the opening whistle as Ryan Jeanfreau fired the first shot on goal to force a comfortable save from the Central Christian goalkeeper, Nawjot Bhandal. However, Jeanfreau's next strike came from outside the box which found the back of the net to open the scoring for MACU in the 17th minute.
    • Mid-America Christian quickly doubled its lead seven minutes later through Matias Garcia who scored his first career goal as an Evangel beating two defenders and finding a finish off a tight angle at the near post.
    • MACU continued to look like the next team to score as Papa Toure, Joao Victor, and Federico Palacios all put shots on target in a three-minute span that were all saved to keep the Evangel lead at two before the halftime break.
  • Second Half
    • Mid-America Christian never let off the gas pedal in the second half as the offensive pressure was back on. Jeanfreau found himself one-on-one with Bhandal, which was denied as the rebound fell to Josh Mackin whose effort just flew over the crossbar.
    • Central Christian fired its first shot on goal in the 66th minute as Genis Alcaide found the first opening, but Dante Caffaro was equal for the routine save to make his first and only save of the match.
    • The Evangels continued to possess the ball the final 20 minutes of the match to see out the match without any threats from the Tigers as MACU claimed all three points on the road trip.
