  • Team Notes:
    • Mid-America Christian continued its Sooner Athletic Conference hot streak coming out of its bye week as the Evangels went on the road on Saturday and picked up a 2-0 win at Central Christian. The result was a massive one for MACU as it allowed the Evangels to propel into a tie for the top of the SAC table with Oklahoma City with 14 points. The battle-tested Evangels with the top strength-of-schedule in the entire NAIA has now won four-straight matches against league competition.
    • The Evangels downright dominated the possession in the victory, outshooting the Tigers by a 19-3 margin with an 8-1 edge in shots on-goal. It was tied for the fewest shots CCCK has been able to get off against an opponent this season.
    • Ryan Jeanfreau continued his scoring onslaught, netting the game-winner in the 17th minute for his ninth goal of the year, including his fourth game-winner and has scored in each of the last five matches.
    • On-top of being a crucial piece of MACU's defense, left back Matias Garcia was able to get involved on the offensive end for the Evangels as well against the Tigers, netting his first career MACU goal in the 24th minute.

  • Team Notes:
    • After getting off to a tough start to SAC play by losing its first two conference matches, Oklahoma Panhandle State has been posting some stronger results over the last few weeks, going 1-0-3 by getting a 2-0 home win over Science & Arts on Oct. 10 before going on the road and pulling out a hard-fought 2-2 draw at then SAC leader John Brown on Saturday.
    • Offense has been tough to come by for the Aggies this season as OPSU ranks third-to-last in league play in goals per game (1.17). However, the Aggies have been one of the more solid sides on the defensive end, ranking fourth in the league in goals allowed average (1.33).
    • Panhandle State has seen most of its scoring from three players, Othman Gherab, Ayoup Bader, and Callum Scott, combining to net 14 of OPSU's 22 goals this year. On the defensive side, Olai Caicoya and Aron Kanyai have split time in-goal for the Aggies. While Kanyai started most of OPSU's non-conference games, Caicoya has established himself as the team's primary starter at goalie during SAC play, starting the last five matches and posting a very solid 1.00 goals allowed average and an .800 save percentage, which currently leads the conference.
    • While Mid-America Christian has dominated the all-time series for the most part with a 6-0-1 mark since 2019, the Evangels had to overcome road adversity at Anchor D Arena last season. In that match, MACU overcame a one-goal deficit in the last 10 minutes as Oscar Gallardo scored the equalizer with 8:19 remaining before Toby Lansdowne came up clutch by netting the game-winner with 2:46 to go off of Lucas Catosso's dish into the box to seal the 2-1 result and capture the SAC regular season title.
