Lucas Catosso Collects College Sports Communicators Academic All-America Acclaim

GREENWOOD, Ind. – For the second time in his MACU Men's Soccer career, senior defender Lucas Catosso was named to the illustrious College Sports Communicators NAIA Academic All-America Team, earning First Team honors as announced by CSC on Tuesday morning.

To earn the esteemed accolade, a student-athlete must be at least a junior by academic standing, earning at least a 3.50 cumulative grade-point average (GPA) as well as compete at a high level in his or her respective sport.

Catosso is just the second MACU student-athlete across all of its sports to receive CSC Academic All-America honors twice, joining another former MACU Men's Soccer standout in Rodrigo Albuquerque, who earned First Team acclaim in 2021 and Second Team accolades in 2022.

The Sao Paulo, Brazil product put together another excellent season on the pitch, earning the Sooner Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year Award while being tabbed to the All-SAC First Team for the second-straight year as well as recently received NCCAA First Team All-America honors.

During his final campaign with the Evangels, Catosso saw action in 22 games, making 21 starts, while logging a team-leading 1821 minutes while switching time between the left-back and left center-back positions throughout the season.
