OKLAHOMA CITY – The No. 19 MACU Men's Soccer team is making its way down to Florida to take on a pair of prestigious opponents. The Evangels are set to square off against St. Thomas at 6 p.m. (CST) at AutoNation Field in Miami Gardens on Thursday night before heading up to West Palm Beach to kick off at 10 a.m. (CST) against No. 17 Keiser at Arrigo-Vecellio Field.

SEASON REPORT
  • Record: 1-1-2
  • Last Match: Lost at No. 8 MidAmerica Nazarene – 2-0 – Aug. 30, 2025 – Olathe, Kan.
  • Stat Leaders:
  • Team Notes:
    • Mid-America Christian is coming off a tough road trip to Kansas last week as the Evangels battled a tough Benedictine team to a 0-0 draw on Aug. 28 before suffering a 2-0 loss to a No. 8 MidAmerica Nazarene team on Saturday that has since risen to No. 3 in the latest NAIA Top 25 Coaches' Poll that was released on Wednesday.
    • With some key pieces being out of the MACU lineup due to injury, the Evangels struggled to generate much in the offensive attack last week against the Ravens and Pioneers, mustering just eight shots in each match with a total of six shots combined being on-goal.
    • Despite the offensive struggles, MACU has still been relatively sound on the back end, allowing just three total goals as a team for a 0.75 goals allowed average, which is on-pace to be the second-lowest average in program history.
    • Even though the Evangels suffered their first loss this past weekend, MACU still remains in the NAIA Top 25 in this week's poll, coming in at No. 19.

  • Team Notes:

    • Much like the Evangels, the Bobcats have had some challenges in the offensive half of the field, netting just a single goal in live-action with the other coming on a penalty kick as STU has notched just 21 total shots, averaging 10.5 shots per game with nine of those attempts finding their mark.
    • Even though St. Thomas has struggled in the attack, the Bobcats have been solid on the defensive end, allowing only 1.50 goals per game and allowing only 20 shots with eight of those attempts being on-frame.
    • Thursday night's match will mark only the second meeting between the two programs as their first meeting came on the biggest stage. During the COVID-19 season where the fall championships were pushed back to the spring of 2021, the Evangels squared off against the Bobcats in the quarterfinal round. Battling through the wet, rainy conditions the entire match, St. Thomas came up with the late game-winner in the 75th minute before making a massive save on Rodrigo Albuquerque's penalty kick in the 78th minute to eliminate MACU by a score of 1-0.
No. 17 Keiser (Fla.)

  • Team Notes:
    • No. 17 Keiser will officially open its 2025 campaign this week against a pair of NAIA Top 25 foes as the Seahawks square off against No. 11 Spring Arbor (Mich.) on Thursday night before battling the 19th-ranked Evangels on Saturday.
    • While the Seahawks had an up-and-down 2024 campaign, KU caught fire in the NAIA Tournament. Keiser notched a massive 6-1 win over No. 22 Union (Ky.) in the opening round before the host No. 3 Mobile (Ala.) battled back from a one-goal deficit at the half by scoring a pair of second half goals, including the game-winner with 50 seconds left to secure the 2-1 result.
    • Even though Keiser lost its leading distributor from last year, the Seahawks bring back their top two goal scorers in Mikael Baisotti and Manu Cardeviola, who combined to score 11 goals a year ago. KU also brings back its starting goalkeeper in Santiago Nebot, who posted a 1.25 goals allowed average in-net with a .672 save percentage.
