OKLAHOMA CITY – The MACU Men's Soccer team will be bringing back a pair of familiar faces to serve on its coaching staff for the 2026 season as Josh Macklin and Claudi Fuentealba will serve as Graduate Assistant Coaches for their alma mater.

Macklin returns after competing with the Evangels the last two seasons, serving as the Team Captain during the 2025 campaign. Seeing action in 42 games and making 32 starts in those two years, Macklin ended his MACU playing career with three goals and five assists out of the midfield.

Also making his return to MACU to primarily serve as the goalkeepers coach, Fuentealba put together an outstanding career after competing with the Evangels during the 2023 and 2024 seasons. Being named the SAC Goalkeeper of the Year and All-SAC First Team honoree in each of those two seasons, Fuentealba ended his MACU career with a 27-3-6 record in-goal, posting a 0.81 goals allowed average with 84 saves on a .743 save percentage. The Chilean keeper also notched 14 shutouts in his 36 games played in-goal and holds multiple top five statistical spots in MACU's NAIA Era (2008-present) record book.

Fuentealba is making his way back to MACU after playing his final year of collegiate soccer at NCAA D-I New Hampshire.

"I am pleased that we could add both Josh and Claudio to our staff this year," stated MACU Head Coach Roberson. "They are two young men that have contributed a lot to our program on the field and want to continue to serve our program. My hope for them is to help them grow outside of the field in their new role in supporting us as we continue to build upon the culture we have here at MACU."

Macklin and Fuentealba will serve on a staff that will be spearheaded by Roberson, who is entering into his first season at the helm after being an Assistant Coach since 2019. They'll be joined by James Westfield, another newcomer to the staff who moves into the Assistant Coach role while Eduardo Calderon returns for his second year as a GA Coach and Abel Renteria is entering in his second year as the Reserve Head Coach.

Mid-America Christian will officially open its season on Aug. 20 as the Evangels host Paul Quinn for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff at the Dill Soccer Field.
