In his first season in that role, Shepard had the opportunity to be on the call for the SAC Men's Soccer Championship, which resulted in a MACU winning its second tournament title.

Outside of MACU Athletics, Shepard has been a PA Announcer and Play-by-Play for various athletics at Oklahoma City University and PA Announcer for University of Oklahoma baseball, softball, soccer and volleyball. In 2023, Shepard also performed the PA duties for the OU men's basketball Crimson & Cream Scrimmage as well as the women's basketball's exhibition game against West Texas A&M.
