Stacey Brown is entering into her third season as the assistant coach for the MACU cross country and track and field programs for the 2025-26 campaigns.
In 2024, the MACU cross country program was elevated to new heights as the men's team posted their best ever finish at the NCCAA National Championships on Nov. 15 after placing fourth of the 11 teams in the meet while also notching a fourth place finish at the SAC Championships the week before on Nov. 9. Not only did freshman Jaden Rodriguez become the program's first All-Sooner Athletic Conference honoree with an eighth-place finish in the SAC meet and NCCAA All-American in the NCCAA Nationals after finishing in sixth, but he became the first MACU cross country runner in program history to receive an invite to the NAIA National Championships.
The MACU Women's Cross Country team also put together its best ever finish in the SAC Championships after placing fifth as a team while Gracie Sanders became the program's first multiple All-SAC and NCCAA All-American recipient after placing third in both meets.
2024-25 was the first year that the men's program competed during the track & field season, competing primarily in distance events. Mohamed Zairi became the program's first All-SAC honoree after tallying a third-place finish in the 800-meter while both Zairi and Rodriguez garnered NCCAA All-America accolades after both runners finished in third in the 800-meter and 5000-meter events at the NCCAA National Championships on May 8-9.
After being a key part of the MACU cross country's return to competition in 2023 after being shut down in 2010, the Evangels put together a sensational year competitively. On the men's side, the Evangels put together their best ever finish as a team at the Sooner Athletic Conference Championships at Eldon Lyon Park in Bethany, Oklahoma on Nov. 4, finishing fourth out of nine teams in the meet.
Brown also played a key role in coaching MACU's first All-SAC performer and first NCCAA All-American in Gracie Sanders, who finished 10th as an individual in the SAC Championship race while also garnering NCCAA All-America accolades after finishing sixth at the NCCAA National Championships in Warsaw, Indiana on Nov. 10.
The men's team also made its first ever appearance at the NCCAA National Championships, finishing seventh out of 12 teams at the meet.
Previously, Brown served as the assistant cross country coach at Westmoore High School in 2022 and then the assistant track & field coach at Southmoore High School in the spring of 2023. Since May of 2021, Brown has served in the Oklahoma City area as a personal running coach.
Overall, Brown has been a Certified Personal Trainer for 17 years while also serving as the Head Athletic Trainer at OrangeTheory from January 2017 to October of 2021.
Locally, Brown works for Christ Family Church in Oklahoma City for the Connections and Women’s Ministry, a role she has served since July of 2022.
In her free time, Brown has qualified and competed in more than 25 marathons nationally over the last 15 years, which included running in the famous Boston Marathon on four occasions. In 2023, Brown completed the Boston 2 Big Sur Challenge, a race that features 400 of the top distance runners in the world.
