Evan Dresel is in his 14th season with the MACU soccer programs and entering his second season as the Head Coach of the women's soccer program. Previously, Dresel served as the co-head coach of both the men's and women's soccer squads for nine years alongside Zach Bice. With Bice, Dresel has also served as co-head coach of the Oklahoma City FC Women's Soccer team that competes in the Women's Soccer Premier League in 2018 and 2019.
Dresel has helped the Lady Evangels capture four NCCAA Central Region Championships, each leading to trips to the NCCAA National Championship Tournament.
During the 2019 campaign, Dresel helped lead the Evangels to one of their best seasons in program history, as MACU closed out the season by recording the second-most wins during the NAIA era (2007-present) by going 14-6-1. MACU secured its fourth trip to the NCCAA national tournament by defeating Southwestern Christian 4-0 in the NCCAA Central Region Championship at Evangel Field on Nov. 19. The Evangels also won their first match at the NCCAA National Championships since 2015 with a 4-0 victory over Erskine (S.C.) in the first match of pool play.
Mid-America Christian also put together its best finish in Sooner Athletic Conference play since 2010 by going 6-2-1 in league play to finish fourth in the conference standings as well as host its first SAC Tournament match since the 2010 season. In the SAC Quarterfinal, the Evangels were able to defeat Oklahoma City 1-0 to secure MACU's first SAC Semifinal appearance since that very same 2010 campaign.
The 2019 squad put together one of the best offensive seasons in the history of the program, scoring an NAIA era record 75 goals while notching the second-most assists (42) to eclipse the program's NAIA era point total record with 192.
The Lady Evangels also won 13 games in 2014, their second most as an NAIA school. He also helped lead the men's team to the SAC tournament title and a finish in the round of 16 at the NAIA National Championship in 2018.
Since 2010, Dresel has coached 22 All-American selections and 35 All-SAC performers.
Dresel helped guide both programs to successful 2013 campaigns, leading the men's soccer team to its first National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Central Regional championship since 2009 after equaling their second-most victories (11) and second-most conference wins (4) since joining the NAIA.
In 2012, Dresel led the men's soccer squad to their best season since joining the NAIA, including their first ever appearance in the Sooner Athletic Conference Postseason Tournament. He also helped the Lady Evangels advance to the SAC Tournament for the third straight season that featured a milestone victory over then No. 4 and previously undefeated Oklahoma City University. It would be OCU's last loss until a setback in the second round of the NAIA National Tournament.
In 2011, Dresel helped keep the Lady Evangels in the top half of the league with 12 victories and second consecutive berth in the SAC Tournament.
Dresel was instrumental in 2010 in helping the Lady Evangels win a school-record 16 matches along with their best ever finish of third in the Sooner Athletic Conference. Dresel also helped guide the men's soccer squad to their third straight NCCAA Central Regional berth and an appearance in the regional semifinals with a resounding 6-0 win over Southwestern Assemblies of God in the quarterfinal round.
Dresel completed his playing career at Southern Nazarene University in 2006. While at SNU he was a 2006 First Team All-Sooner Athletic Conference selection and part of the 2005 Final Four team at the NAIA National Tournament.
Dresel holds his National C Coaching License and has been the competitive coach for Southlakes Cosmos '94 girls' team over the last six years. He was the assistant soccer coach at his alma mater, Mustang High School from 2002 to 2005. He went on to coach the Mount Saint Mary's High School men's team in 2007 and in 2008, he coached both the men's and women's programs. Also in 2008, Dresel, was an Olympic Development Program Assistant Coach.
