KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics announced the qualifiers for the 2017-18 Scholar Teams in the Association, and Mid-America Christian University was well represented on the list. In total, 1,862 teams earned the status, and for MACU, seven of their eight NAIA Teams made the cut.
MACU's Baseball, Women's Basketball, and Softball teams led the way with a 3.36 GPA, the volleyball team posted a 3.23 GPA to make the cut, and Men's Soccer (3.21), Men's Golf (3.11), and Women's Soccer (3.07) all also earned the recognition.
In order to make the grade as an NAIA Scholar Team, the members of a program's varsity roster must combine for an annual Grade Point Average of 3.00 or better. The GPA is factored using only the fall and winter semester credits attempted and grade points earned.
