OKLAHOMA CITY – After helping lead the Mid-America Christian volleyball team to a pair of three-set sweeps over Langston and Central Christian, junior outside hitter Hannah Focker was named the Sooner Athletic Conference Attacker of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday.

The Sudlohn, Germany native had another stellar week, recording 26 kills on a .281 attack percentage to go with three service aces while also playing well on the defensive end, recording 19 digs for a 3.16 digs per set average.

In the Evangels' 25-14, 25-23, 25-18 win over Langston last Thursday, Focker tallied a team-high 15 kills on a .414 attack percentage to go with nine digs. Focker followed it up with her fifth double-double of the season, tallying 11 kills and 10 digs in a 25-12, 25-22, 25-12 victory over Central Christian on Friday.

Focker has been on-fire for the Evangels after coming off a program-record 30 kills on a .289 attack percentage in a come-from-behind 3-2 victory at Southwestern Christian on Oct. 19, which included getting the match-tying kill in the fourth set and the match-winning kill in the fifth.

With Focker being selected, she becomes just the third MACU volleyball player to ever earn SAC Player of the Week accolades. Focker is the first Evangel to take home the Attacker of the Week honor while the other two recipients were Maegan Plunk for SAC Defender of the Week earlier this season on Sept. 9 and Shannon Niemeier for SAC Player of the Week circa Sept. 29, 2014.

Mid-America Christian will wrap up its four match road stand tomorrow night as the Evangels will head down to Chickasha, Okla. to take on Science & Arts for a 7 p.m. match.
