Women’s Soccer Set to Face No. 7 John Brown in SAC Road Tilt

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Mid-America Christian women's soccer team is preparing to face one of its toughest test of the season thus far as the Evangels will be taking on No. 7 John Brown in a 5 p.m. match in Siloam Springs, Ark. on Saturday.

    • Mid-America Christian is coming off a tough road loss at Wayland Baptist last week, as a 66th minute score by the Pioneers broke a 1-all tie.
    • Freshman forward Dani Duke scored the Evangels' lone goal, the first of her collegiate career to become the 12th different MACU player to score a goal this season.
    • The Evangels are currently fighting to hold on to the No. 3 spot in the Sooner Athletic Conference standings. After suffering the loss to the Pioneers last week, WBU has moved to within two points of the Evangels, who currently sit at 12 points.

    • In the Golden Eagles' 4-0 victory against Oklahoma Panhandle State on Monday, JBU did not allow a single shot the entire contest while getting three second half goals to pull away.
    • JBU is an offensively balanced squad with six players recording eight or more points, led by sophomore midfielder Lauren Walter with six goals and five assists for 17 points.
    • The Evangels will be aiming for a big time upset and their first win over the Golden Eagles since 2011. Kassie Byrd led the way with a goal compounded by a JBU own goal in the victory.
