MATCH NOTES
  • The two teams were very even statistically in the match as Mid-America Christian registered 57 kills on a .158 attack percentage while SAGU turned in 58 kills on a .161 hitting clip. While MACU held a slim 12-11 edge in total blocks, the service line was pivotal for MACU as the Evangels notched nine aces to just five for the Lions.
  • Senior outside hitter Hanna Foecker already held the MACU single season kills record from the 2020-21 campaign with 526 kills, but Foecker once again topped her own record as her 24 kills brought her 2021 tally to 531. The Borken, Germany product will have the opportunity to shatter her previous record as MACU has five regular season matches remaining before starting postseason play.
  • Lena Stockhammer joined an exclusive club on Saturday night. With her 47 assist effort, Stockhammer became just the second Evangels setter to ever record more than 1000 assists in a season, joining Calle Solie on the list. Stockhammer ended the night with 1042 assists to her name this season.
  • Needing just one dig coming into the match, senior libero Maegan Plunk closed out the night with 20 to notch her third consecutive 500 dig season.
  • Head Coach Holly McKamie has continuously led the MACU volleyball program to new heights in her first two seasons at the helm. After leading the 2020-21 squad to a 19-15 record, notching an NAIA Era record 19 wins, the Evangels surpassed it tonight by registering its 20th win to improve to 20-7 during the campaign.
  • Mid-America Christian and Southwestern Assemblies of God grounded out their third straight match that was decided in five sets. SAGU won the earlier matchup this season in five sets on Sept. 18 in Waxahachie, but the Evangels took another five-setter after winning last season's Mar. 8 meeting inside the Gaulke Activity Center.
UP NEXT
