GAME SUMMARY
  • 1st Half
    • Jasiah Lewis gave Mid-America Christian (6-2, 2-1 Sooner Athletic Conference) its first only lead of the half at the 18:18 mark by splitting defenders down the left side for a layup to make it a 6-5 game. However, Southwestern Christian (5-6, 4-4 SAC) quickly responded with five unanswered to reclaim a 10-6 edge with 16:53 remaining.
    • MACU cut it to two on Terrance Jones' fadeaway jumper in the paint to bring it to 10-8, but the Eagles strung together a 14-5 run to extend their lead to 24-13 on a pair of Charles Dickson free throws with 10:39 to go.
    • Trailing by 10, the Evangels chipped away on a strong take by Dominick Ford take to the basket followed by a Damarius Brooks three from the left corner with 5:59 left, setting the score to 29-24.
    • After trading a pair of buckets, the Eagles surged away by rattling off nine straight to take their largest advantage of the half at 40-26 on a Khristien White three with 1:59 remaining.
    • Tony Dorsey hit a fastbreak layup with 30 seconds left to briefly make it a 12-point deficit, but Charles Dickson for SCU managed to convert one of two free throws on the Eagles' final possession of the half to send Southwestern Christian into the break with a 41-28 edge.
  • 2nd Half
    • The Eagles quickly extended their lead to 17 in the early going on a Dickson three-pointer with 15:56 on the clock to make it a 51-34 game.
    • Mid-America Christian tallied seven straight behind a Jones layup, a pair of Dorsey free throws and a Lewis three to cut the deficit to 51-41 with 14:33 to go.
    • Southwestern Christian swelled its edge back to 17 on a pair of White free throws to set the score to 60-43 with 10:58 remaining.
    • MACU went on an 18-2 run over the next five minutes as Jones knocked down two free throws with 6:10 left to trim the MACU deficit to 62-61.

    • On the ensuing possession, Terrance Jones came up with a big defensive rebound after forcing the Eagles to take a contested three-pointer late in the shot clock. On MACU's next offensive possession, Jones dribbled into the paint and lost the ball going up on a tightly contested shot, but Malik Malone was in the right place at the right time as he tipped the loose ball through for the go-ahead bucket with 25 seconds to go to make it a 74-73 Evangels lead.
    • MACU forced SCU's White into missing a tightly contested three before Jones ripped down the defensive board and was fouled, knocking down one of two free throws to extend the MACU edge to 75-73 with five seconds left.
    • Southwestern Christian had an opportunity at a game-winning three, but Dickson's shot bounced off the rim and York Benjamin's putback came after the horn sounded as MACU held on for the win.
