CHICKASHA, Okla. – The third-seeded Mid-America Christian softball team split its first two games of the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament at Bill Smith Ballpark on Thursday, defeating No. 6 seed Oklahoma Panhandle State 4-1 before falling 2-1 in eight innings to seventh-seed Langston.

• Mid-America Christian scored its four runs on nine hits and committed three errors while Oklahoma Panhandle State tallied its one run on five hits and made one error.
• By getting the win in the circle, Katie Long became MACU's NAIA era single season wins leader, improving to 17-5 on the year. Long gave up just one unearned run on five hits while walking one and striking out eight. Long also went 2-for-3 from the plate with a pair of singles.
• Freshman designated player Avery Schneringer led the MACU bats, going 1-for-3 with a two RBI triple.
• Olivia Roberts recorded her 32^nd RBI of the season while Faith Hollingsworth drove in the fourth of the contest.
