  • MATCH SUMMARY
    • Set One
      • Mid-America Christian and Science & Arts were neck-in-neck through the first 16 rallies as back-to-back Drovers points drew that set even at 8-8.
      • The Evangels took six of the next seven as kills from Maddie Callicoat and Vanessa Moreira on back-to-back rallies started a string of four unanswered during the run, pulling MACU in-front for good in the set at 14-9.
      • The Drovers kept it to within four before Hanna Foecker took over during a seven-unanswered run to close out the 25-14 set one win. During that streak, Foecker recorded three kills and a service ace.
    • Set Two
      • Much like the opening set, Science & Arts managed to stay within striking distance in the early going at 6-5.
      • Consecutive kills by Foecker and Allison Porter jumpstarted a 7-1 run, which included a string of five straight to pull the lead out to 13-6.
      • The Drovers hung around, outscoring MACU 7-5 over the next 12 rallies, but the Evangels finished strong by taking seven of the last nine for a 25-15 set two victory. Foecker and Cloie Mitchell provided the offensive spark for MACU during the run with each recording a pair of kills.
    • Set Three
      • The Drovers once again hung around in the early portions of the set as a USAO 3-1 run countered a 4-1 start by MACU, bringing the score to 5-4.
      • A kill by Lena Stockhammer rekindled the Evangels attack, as MACU rattled off five unanswered behind a Stockhammer ace and Foecker kill to make it a 10-4 match.
      • After MACU built its lead up to seven at 15-8, USAO stormed back by scoring on 11 of the next 16 rallies to pull it to 20-19, prompting MACU head coach Holly McKamie to call a timeout.
      • The Evangels finished the match strong out of the break, tallying five of the final six points as a Madalyn Shurley kill on match point gave MACU the 25-20 victory in the third set.
  • MATCH NOTES
    • Mid-America Christian finished with 46 kills on a season-high .327 attack percentage while limiting the Drovers to just 19 kills on a .135 clip.
    • In the third set, Hanna Foecker recorded her 1000th career kill at Mid-America Christian. The three-year player ended the match with 17 kills on a season-best .419 attack percentage.
    • With 38 assists in the match, sophomore setter Lena Stockhammer found herself in the MACU record books once again. The Austrian native recorded the third-most assists in a three-set match, placing just one back of Calle Solie's records of 39 set in 2010 and again in 2012.
    • The Evangels snapped the Drovers' program-record five match win streak to start the season.
