Women’s Soccer to Face Pair of Ranked Opponents at JBU Classic

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Mid-America Christian women's soccer team will face two of its toughest tests of the season at the John Brown Classic this weekend. The Evangels will open the tourney on Saturday for a 5 p.m. matchup with No. 13 Oklahoma Wesleyan before closing out the event with an 11 a.m. match against No. 5 Tennessee Southern on Monday.

    • The Evangels are off to their second straight 2-0 start after beating MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.) 1-0 in their season-opener on Aug. 28. Last season, MACU opened the year with a 12-0 victory at Bacone (Okla.) before topping Texas A&M-Texarkana 10-1.
    • In the two wins, a pair of freshmen have scored the game-winners for MACU as Mia Willyerd scored the lone goal against the Pioneers while Jasmine Morales booted in the game-winner in the 43rd minute against Friends.
