KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the third time in her illustrious career, senior outside hitter Hanna Foecker was named the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Attacker of the Week on Tuesday.
A senior outside hitter from Borken, Germany, Foecker was selected for the honor after guiding the Evangels to a 6-0 record, turning in 126 kills at a blistering 6.30 kills per set and .412 attack percentage.
Foecker also notched three record-setting performances during the week. In a 3-1 victory against College of the Ozarks on Friday, Foecker tied her own program record for match kills with 30 and shattering the previous four-set match record of 24 recorded by Jessica Chestnut at Oklahoma Wesleyan on Oct. 30, 2007.
Foecker also notched the second-most kills in a three-set match against Jarvis Christian on Saturday, turning in 22 on a blistering .455 attack percentage.
However, one of Foecker's most incredible performances came in the later match on Saturday against Centenary, where Foecker finished with 17 kills on a .708 attack percentage, going down as the eighth-highest attack percentage in a single match and also marked just the second time in her career where she didn't commit a single attack error.
Last season, Foecker became the first Evangels volleyball player in program history to garner NAIA Attacker of the Week honors, earning the Week 2 (Sept. 29, 2020) accolade after posting 40 kills on a 6.67 kills per set clip by getting wins against Bethel (Kan.) and Friends (Kan.). Foecker earned the honor again in Week 4 (Oct. 13, 2020) after posting 33 kills at 5.5 kills per set on a .422 attack percentage in a pair of wins against Central Christian and Southwestern Christian.
