In the defeat, MACU battled back from a six-point halftime deficit by outscoring the Drovers 23-19 in the third quarter to close it to a 52-50 game. However, the Evangels struggled mightily to start the fourth period, scoring just three points through the first five minutes as USAO stretched its lead to 13 before pulling away with the win.
    • It was the first time the Evangels suffered back-to-back losses since the 2020-21 season when MACU fell 75-66 to Langston in the SAC Quarterfinal before dropping a hard-fought 85-83 defeat to Columbia (Mo.) in the NAIA Opening Round matchup.
    • The series has been back-and-forth since the start of the 2019-20 season as neither team has been able to establish a win streak in the series over the last four years.

However, SCU has been able to shoot the sixth-highest field goal percentage in the league at 39.2 percent and even though the Eagles rank seventh in free throw attempts (171), the Eagles are converting the third-best rate (73.7 percent) in the conference.
    • SCU features a balanced offensive attack with six players averaging more than seven points per game, headlined by senior guard Tresha Yager, who is the lone Eagle averaging in double-figures at 11.2 ppg on 39.4 percent shooting, including a blistering 40.8 percent from three-point range.
    • Since Hannah Moeller took over the program prior to the start of the 2016-17 season, Mid-America Christian has dominated the series, winning 11 of the last 13 meetings. The last time the two teams met inside Pickens-Springer Gymnasium, MACU dominated the first half by outscoring SCU 42-23 in the first 20 minutes before cruising to a 69-47 victory on Dec. 7, 2021.
